No matter how much sleep I want to get I always seem to find something more interesting to do with my time. I should be sleeping right now. I spent all day helping move my friend into his new condo and am going to play shinny tonight at 10. Tomorrow I’ll be getting up semi-early to watch F1 with my friends. Given all this I should really recharge. But am I? Nope, I’m blogging about not sleeping – ironic!
Seriously, I used to be able to operate on little to no sleep and go forever. Sure I’d recharge on the weekends but even then I’d go out late or stay up or whatever. Now it seems if I get anything less than 7 hours of sleep I feel like I’ve been mowed down by a runaway hippo. Could I remedy this with naps or even going to bed earlier? You bet. But instead I’ll stay awake and watch some show about the challenges of building a wind farm in the middle of the North Sea on Discovery HD. At the end of the day, though, I stand by my choices; I’d rather be tired than miss out on things. Plus there’s always espresso and Red Bull.
