In celebration of Robbie Burns Day, I poured a dram of Highland Park’s Full Volume. I sampled this at a whisky open house last year and had it marked on my list to buy. Just before Christmas I picked up a bottle and finally cracked it open.
Distillery: Highland Park
Age: 18 years
Nose: Vanilla and toffee. A hint of sweetness the more I nose it.
Palate: Toffee continues, lemony citrus, and spices.
Finish: A tongue-coating finish that brings a sweet, woody smokiness as the flavours fade.
Overall: I haven’t had a Highland Park in my scotch closet for quite a while and I’m glad I added this one. There’s a lot of flavour packed in here and the ABV gives you some room to play if you want to.
